Crucis Lux — Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Crucis Lux mobile application (the "App"). By installing or using the App you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. The service
Crucis Lux is a multilingual Catholic storytelling app. It plays illustrated stories — lives of saints, Marian apparitions, scriptural passages — with synchronized narration in Portuguese (Brazil), English, Spanish, French, and German.
The App and its content are offered for personal, non-commercial, devotional use.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the equivalent age of digital consent in your country) to use the App. By using the App you represent that you meet this age requirement.
3. Subscription, free trial, and billing
The App offers a paid subscription that unlocks the full library of series. Subscriptions are billed by Apple App Store or Google Play according to the plan you choose.
Free trial. If you start a 7-day free trial, you will not be charged for the trial period. The subscription will begin at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. The renewal charge is taken by Apple or Google through the payment method on file. You can cancel at any time in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
Refunds. Refunds are governed by Apple's and Google's policies. We do not process refunds directly.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, redistribute, broadcast, or commercially exploit the App's audio, subtitles, illustrations, or text;
- reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code;
- use the App in any way that violates law or the rights of others;
- attempt to bypass the subscription gate or interfere with the App's operation.
5. Intellectual property
All content shipped in the App — narration scripts, audio, subtitles, illustrations, the "Crucis Lux" name and logo — is owned by the Operator or licensed to the Operator. The App is licensed, not sold, to you under a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence for use on devices you own or control. Scriptural references quoted in citations are drawn from public-domain or fair-use sources.
6. AI-generated illustrations
Illustrations in the App are produced with the assistance of artificial-intelligence image-generation tools in a register inspired by medieval Italian frescoes. All imagery is curated and reviewed by a human editor before publication.
7. Disclaimer
Crucis Lux is a devotional app and does not constitute spiritual direction, theological counsel, or replacement for sacramental practice. The Operator makes no warranties about the App's accuracy, availability, or fitness for any particular spiritual purpose. The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amounts you have paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account from the profile screen. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. Sections concerning intellectual property, disclaimer, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Disputes will be brought in the courts competent for the city of São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brazil, unless the law of your country of residence provides for an exclusive forum.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will change the effective date above and, for material changes, surface a notice in the App.
